A Brief History of Defenders of Freedom
Donna Cranston was the mother of a warrior deployed in Iraq, so through her combined personal experiences as a military mom and her passion/desire to help Veterans succeed as they returned home she founded Defenders of Freedom. She was raised in a family who instilled patriotism, leading her to begin her journey by sending care packages overseas to troops and participating in the Welcome Home a Hero program at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport. Through all her activities and knowledge gained on the unfulfilled needs of Veterans, she founded Defenders of Freedom. Most Americans support our troops but lack the knowledge of how to help, Donna wanted to bridge the gap. DOF began by sending care packages and financial assistance to Veterans that returned with disabilities and were badly in need of it. Donna listened to these men and women and responded to their needs, eventually expanding DOF’s services to include an evidence based approach to treating Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Veterans.
Defenders of Freedom was founded by Donna Cranston.
Defenders of Freedom FL was founded by Jamie Well, CSM, U.S. Army Retired.
